The idea behind the book

Cadence imagined children opening a book and finding a hero who looked like them. Familiar people, favorite toys, and small personal details could become part of an adventure. The words would tell the story, while the reader chose the colors.

With encouragement from her uncle Daniel, that idea became Ink Your Tale. It grew into personalized books for children, families, couples, and anyone with a story to share.

Our own story is a coloring book

Cadence and the Dream That Grew tells the story behind Ink Your Tale in the same read-and-color format. You can open the 30-page founder story and turn through it one page at a time.

It is a gently imagined story inspired by Cadence’s own account and her family’s proposed story. It shows the kind of connected scenes and readable captions that make a coloring storybook different from a collection of unrelated pictures.

Your details are where we begin

You bring the photos, names, favorite things, and memories. We create a story with illustrations to color and words along the bottom. You can share a complete idea or give us creative freedom to build one around your characters.
